Typisch Spielerfrau - der Amber-McIvor-Blog (4)
DEL2
Typisch Spielerfrau?! And now let’s switch to English!

Hallo Everyone,
I hope you have all been enjoying 2014 so far and following through with your New Years resolutions, if that’s your thing.  I think if I were the type to set a resolution mine would have been no more phones in the bed.  I would say 90% of the time when we go to bed, we lie down and immediately start looking at Facebook or YouTube, and it’s ridiculous.
Riley and I actually go to bed early just because we know we’ll spend the next 2 hours searching the web for cats using toilets, Bon Jovi music videos, and hockey highlights!  I swear Riley has seen every hockey highlight that has posted to the Internet since 1980.  I have never known anyone so passionate about something that they have to watch it while they are using the bathroom!  Personally, I would be terrified of dropping my phone in the toilet, but he seems to have it down.
Since the New Year started we have really been focusing on taking care of our bodies.  We have been hitting the gym more and McDonalds less, and cooking a lot more food at home instead of eating out as much.  In fact a few days ago Riley, S. Busch, his girlfriend, and some of our friends went to our first yoga class.  I have always wanted to try and so we decided we would all go together.
First off, I think we were the only people under the age of 50 and I don’t think they like it when you talk! We all got our little mats out and laid down while the instructor starts speaking German at rate that is impossible for me to even try to understand the words.  As they do different positions they are also giving directions that Nina is trying to translate for me in a whisper, which only makes me laugh, I think she wanted me to get kicked out!
There is one exercise that the teacher demonstrates and I can’t imagine anyone in the room being able to do this.  I look from Nina to Tony and so on and everyone is struggling which is making me feel better about completely giving up and then I notice Riley, who is absolutely showing me up and doing this exercise with the grace of a swan.  I decided then and there that Riley was no longer invited!
Whatever your New Year desire is, weather it be losing weight, finding a new job, being a better person, saving money, or letting go of certain things that you’ve been holding onto, Riley and I wish you the best.  I am not sure what Riley’s would have been, I hope it wasn’t going to more yoga classes because he has been permanently uninvited!
I look forward to seeing everyone at the game on Sunday and watching all the boys back in action, minus Martin, who is probably still blending his meals and drinking them through a straw.
Until next time…
Amber
